Just one serving of the perfect bowl of creamy macaroni soup can simultaneously fill you up, and give you lots of comfort. It comes as no wonder that some really make sure they order some on the side when they head over to Jollibee. Now if you’re wondering how to make one at home, I have just the guide for you. Get ready to taste some Creamy Macaroni soup ala Jollibee!
What does Creamy Macaroni Soup (ala Jollibee) taste like?
I’d say one of the things that makes that fast food chain’s macaroni soup truly memorable is just how perfectly savory it is. It is not too salty, but definitely has just enough of the popular seasoning along with some pepper. But there are more ingredients that are key to the satisfying flavor of our soup. We also have some chicken cups, as well as some cream of mushroom soup mix to truly enhance the taste of the dish.
There are some other components that add some texture to our soup. We have some diced chicken, a bit of ham, and we also can’t forget about soft elbow macaroni. Carrots and corn also provide somewhat of a crunch so that our soup never tastes boring. Are you ready to create your own? Try cooking this up with me!
How to make Creamy Macaroni Soup (ala Jollibee)
Sautèing garlic and onion, and cooking the meat
Your first step would be to take 3 tablespoons of butter, and melt this in your cooking pot. Once it is all melted, you can add 3 cloves of garlic, and 1 onion, both of which you’ve minced already. Then just sautè these until the onion softens. Once that happens, you can incorporate 2 oz. of diced chicken. We will cook this up until it turns brown. You will also need 2 ounces of ham that are sliced into squares. Just add this to the mix, and sautè it for 2 minutes.
Adding water and other ingredients
It’s time to pour 3 cups of water into the mix. We will just wait for this to boil, and then we can integrate 1 Knorr Chicken Cube, as well as 1 ½ cups of elbow macaroni. Stir everything together, and then just cover the pot. Once again, we will let the mixture boil. When it does, you can adjust the heat to medium, and boil the soup for 8 minutes.
Letting the soup thicken
As we are waiting for the liquid to boil, we can work on another aspect of our dish. In a separate container, combine 62 grams of Knorr Cream of Mushroom Soup with 2 cups of water. We will then stir these together until they are perfectly blended. Then just pour that into your cooking pot.
Incorporating some vegetables and seasonings
You can now add your 2 carrots you’ve diced, along with 8 oz. of whole kernel corn. Put the cover on top for now, as we will need to get everything cooking for 8 minutes. Once the time is up, you can sprinkle in as much salt and ground black pepper as necessary. Make sure not to put too much so that we end up with a well-seasoned dish. Afterwards, you can transfer the soup into a serving bowl of choice. It would be great to have this freshly cooked while it is hot, but be careful not to eat it while it is too hot as it might burn your tongue!
You can definitely have your creamy macaroni soup as a solo dish, but it would also help to have a couple of reinforcements at the dinner table. If you are looking for other dishes that would match your soup, here are a few I can suggest!
What to serve with Creamy Macaroni Soup (ala Jollibee)
Pulled Pork Sandwich
Because of how effortlessly good macaroni soup is, I would say it goes with most sandwiches out there. But it perfectly complements one that is delectably savory and rich, such as this Pulled Pork Sandwich. You definitely get a boost of flavor from the chipotle mayonnaise in this recipe. The slow-cooked pulled pork is also delightfully tender, and makes for the perfect filling. The best part is that this recipe is so easy to make with just three ingredients, and a few simple steps!
Broccoli Bacon Salad
Soup and salad go together like two peas in a pod. And so I would also recommend trying out this Broccoli Bacon Salad with your Creamy Macaroni Soup (ala Jollibee). This has the perfect mix of crunchiness and softness in terms of texture because of bacon, roasted cashews, as well as some broccoli. This is conveniently enough yet another dish that is very easy to whip up!
Crispy Fried Chicken
Since this recipe was inspired by a fast food chain favorite, why not have it with yet another popular dish on their menu? Some Crispy Fried Chicken would go nicely with your soup. You can expect this recipe in particular to have a beautifully juicy interior, and tons of crunchiness on the outside.
