What is Beef Stroganoff?
Beef Stroganoff has become such a beloved classic over the years because of an abundance of things. But perhaps one of its greatest appeals is its combination of a rich, creamy sauce with the most tender meat. This is a duo that is already heavily utilized in many types of cuisine. But this recipe truly makes the most of that combo by using one of the most succulent types of meat, alongside the ever flavorful sour cream. It also has a buttery flavor as a result of its mix of seasonings and spices.
While it can go with a large variety of side dishes, it is popularly served on top of noodles. But what if you tried it with a different type of pasta? Another dish that many can recognize for its delightful meatiness is lasagna. This famous recipe utilizes white strips of pasta, and mixes it with a heaps of delicious tomato sauce, meat and cheese. But sprinkling in a bit of the Beef Stroganoff’s essentials— sour cream and beef sirloin— can make it even more satisfying.
Now try cooking this tasty, rich combination with me!
How to make Beef Stroganoff Lasagna:
Preparing the lasagna and the sauce:
We will start by taking our 8 ounces of lasagna. Follow the package instructions to cook these up, and then set them aside. We will also use 3 tablespoons of butter, which we should put in a pan. Apply some heat to melt this. Afterwards, you can place your 1 lb. of beef sirloin inside. Let this cook evenly until it becomes light brown in color.
Now we will integrate 1 onion we’ve sliced, as well as 2 cups of chopped mushrooms. Sauté these together for 3 minutes. We will also be combining 1 pack of Knorr Cream of Mushroom, alongside 2 ½ cups of water in a separate bowl. Then go ahead and stir this all together until you’ve blended them enough. Afterwards, pour the entire mixture into the pan to give the sauce a nice and thick consistency, as well as great flavor.
Also sprinkle in 2 teaspoons of paprika. We will let this cook for another 3 minutes. Once that’s done, you can go ahead and turn your heat off. Now put ½ cup of sour cream in the mix as well. Stir this up to evenly mix all of our ingredients nicely. After that, you can get ready to bake the lasagna!
How to bake the Beef Stroganoff Lasagna:
We just have to begin by preheating our oven to 350 °F. While we’re waiting, we can go ahead and put together our Beef Stroganoff Lasagna in our baking pan. Start by placing your stroganoff, and then your lasagna from earlier. Then top this with 8 ounces of mozzarella cheese, making sure that you distribute it evenly for that layer. Continue this pattern until you’ve finished using all of your ingredients.
Afterwards, place your baking pan in the oven. Let this bake for 30 minutes. Once it’s all good and baked, you can take it off the oven, and serve it while it’s warm. I love to have this with some garlic bread on the side. And there you have it! A gorgeous plate of Beef Stroganoff Lasagna that’s perfect for sharing.
