Apple Pie Recipe
Apple Pie is a type of fruit pie with sweet baking apple mixture as filling. I think that this pie does not need any introduction, since it has become one of the most popular pies around.
You might be enjoying Apple Pie since you were a child, but do you know which apple varieties are used to make this delightful pie? There are specific apple varieties that are recommended to be used in making Apple Pie; they are often called baking apples. Baking apples are usually crisp and acidic, but not too sweet. Baking Bites lists some of the baking apples that you can use.
Are you ready to make your own Apple Pie? I’m sure you are. If you are having any doubts about anything, forget all about it. It does not mean that you need to have extensive cooking or baking experience in order for you to make a good one. You should be fine as long as you know how to mix ingredients and use the oven.

How does this Apple Pie Recipe work?
This recipe involves two general steps. The first is to prepare the pie, while the second is to bake it in the oven.
Prepare the apple pie by mixing all the ingredients in a large bowl (except for the dough and butter). Arrange a pastry dough in a circular pan and then pour the mixture in. Top with butter and cover with the second pastry dough. You will need to make holes on the dough so that steam can escape when baking.
The baking process is simple. Preheat the oven to 425 F and then bake. You may also want to apply egg wash on the pie before baking to make it look nicer when done.

This pie was delicious. All that I did different was add a pinch of ginger and about two teaspoons of lemon juice. My only issue was that it was very very very watery. I don’t understand why. Any suggestions?

What size glass pie dish did you use? Inches around and depth in inches, please. Thank you!

This pie was absolutely delicious! It was easy to make and well worth it. I do have a question. I divided 1 stick (1/2) cup of butter) over the apples and it dripped over my glass pie plate. Is this normal or should I decrease the amount of butter? Other than that, it was perfect. My family really enjoyed this pie and want me to make it again! Thank you for this recipe, it’s a keeper!

Just made this apple pie and it was really really good.. The best I’ve eaten so far, although the pastry did sticked in the baking pan. I should have maybe put a butter before putting the dough. And the egg wash is not in the lists of ingredients but lucky I did watch the step by step video. But nevertheless, its really delicious.. Thanks..

by the way, can you please share your recipe for Pecan Pie? the best Pecan Pie i’ve ever tried is the one from Mamou Restaurant in Serendra, Taguig. your profile says you’re based in Chicago. i do hope though that you’d dine at Mamou soon.. their Pecan Pie is really superb! — but very expensive..

I think Apple Pie is the king of all pies. Also I do believe if a person can make a really good Apple Pie I think you’ve got it made as a good cook. What I look for in a good Apple pie is first the butterness of the crust I like it flaky not crumbly. The Apples have to be nicely spiced that you can really taste it. When you can taste all that then you know you will be eating very yummy Apple Pie. And that’s when you can tell a true Apple Pie then top it with Vanilla Ice Cream Yummy.Thank you

Have been following your site for quite sometime. I enjoyed and thanks a lot for sharing as its real helpful.
Can you please give measurement in grams too? Ingredients like butter is easier to weigh in grams than cup. Thks.
