Creamy Beef with Mushroom Ingredients
From the title alone, you can probably tell that this recipe is fairly straightforward. There aren’t many ingredients you need to make this terrific recipe — which is part of the beauty of it! This crowd pleaser dish requires only the following:
Beef sirloin. This recipe calls for sirloin, a steak cut from the rear back portion of the cow. Sirloin is a lean cut — meaty, flavorful, and perfect for the recipe we’re making today. For this beef with mushroom we’ll use about 2 pounds of it. While I like to have mine in thin slices for the ease to cook and enjoy, you can also opt to cube them or slice them into neat strips.
\Button mushrooms. There are so many kinds of mushrooms out there, it’s hard to decide which kind to use in select dishes! Depending on the intensity of flavors you’re after, you can choose from a wide range of options. For this creamy beef with mushroom, I like to use button mushrooms — arguably one of the easiest to source. Button mushrooms are small and round, much like the buttons we name them after. They have a milder flavor, especially when you compare them to flat or shiitake mushrooms. But this mild flavor makes the perfect partner to your delectable and smoky beef — not overpowering nor overwhelming.
Knorr Cream of Mushroom. A creamy mushroom sauce for this dish simply wouldn’t be complete without tasty Knorr Cream of Mushroom! While we typically use this for a classically comforting mushroom soup, this mix will give our dish the creaminess we’re definitely after. This Knorr Cream of Mushroom adds to that rich, umami flavor of mushrooms, making your dish even more mouthwatering!
Parsley. With a touch of an earthy tone, parsley is a great addition to your creamy beef with mushroom. It has an all around clean taste that can cut through most of the mushroom’s flavors while simultaneously complementing them. A tablespoon of this chopped herb will make all the difference in this hearty and satisfying dish.

Lengua in White Sauce with Mushroom
Of course, if we’re talking about all time classic Filipino mushroom dishes, we can’t go without talking about lengua. This tasty ox tongue recipe is warm and rich, with this unique meat soaking up all that tasty mushroom flavor. Ox tongue may be new for some of you to cook with, but fear not! The key to making lengua great is its tenderness; that’s why you have to boil it down for about 1 to 1 ½ hours to ensure you’re getting maximum juiciness. The result is a dish that is timelessly delicious; the addition of whipping cream and mayonnaise certainly doesn’t hurt either!
How to make Creamy Beef with Mushroom
Tenderize your beef
In making your creamy beef with mushroom, we start by ensuring your beef is as succulent as can be. This happens by first melting 3 tablespoons of butter in a pan, then adding cooking oil. Add your slices of garlic; we’ll need about a head of it, to really get that maximum nutty and delicious flavor. Sauté your garlic until it browns, then add your onions. Cook until they soften, then toss in your sirloin slices. Cook, while stirring, until you get a brown hue on the sides of your beef.
Pour in a cup of water before covering the pan. Adjust to a low simmer, and continue to cook for about 35 minutes. Not only will this give your dish that garlicky and onion flavor, but it’ll also guarantee its becoming fork-tender.
Add mushrooms
When your 35 minutes are up, add 8 ounces of button mushrooms and stir. Meanwhile, combine a cup of water and a pack of Knorr Cream of Mushroom in a bowl. Once you’ve incorporated the mix well into the water, you can now pour the mixture into the pan. Bring your dish to a boil, and, without the cover on, continue cooking for 10 to 15 minutes.
Finishing touches
For the last bit of this creamy beef with mushroom recipe, season your dish with salt and ground black pepper. Top it with parsley, take it off the stove — et voila! Your dish is ready to be enjoyed! Make sure to serve it with warm rice before sharing.
With a satisfying succulence and creamy flavors, this beef with mushroom dish is a winner! Let us know what you and your family think.
