Where does the loco moco recipe come from?
The original loco moco recipe is actually Hawaiian in origin. Some time ago in that tropical paradise, a sports team asked their local restaurant to make them a meal that was more than just a sandwich but equally satisfying. Another caveat was that it had to be just as inexpensive and easy to prep as well. This prompted the restaurant owners to create a dish of rice and burger patties smothered in delectable gravy. This was topped off with a nice fried egg. As expected, this dish was a hit! The sports team took the nickname of one of their members George Okimoto — known at the time as “Crazy.” Armed with their high school Spanish knowledge, the “loco moco” was born!

How to make this loco moco recipe
Following this loco moco recipe means dividing your cooking process into three main steps: Making your burgers, frying your eggs, and finishing off with your sauce.
The first two steps are simple! All you need to do to begin is heat oil in a pan and fry your CDO Ulam Burger patties until you’ve cooked all sides of all patties completely through. Once you’ve finished, you can focus on frying your eggs! When the doneness of your eggs is to your satisfaction, you can then set it aside.
When it comes to making the sauce, start by heating 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a saucepan. Add your onions and mushrooms, sautéing both for about 2 minutes. When those two minutes are up, pour 2 cups of beef broth into the pan, seasoning with soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. About a tablespoon each will do the trick. Afterwards, bring it to a boil, and allow your dish to cook for 3 minutes on a low heat.
Season your loco moco recipe’s sauce with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Meanwhile, combine 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 3 tablespoons of water in another container, in order to make a slurry. Stir them well before pouring the slurry into the saucepan. This will make your loco moco’s sauce even thicker. Once you get the texture you’re after, you can now begin assembling your delightful meal!
Over a plate of rice, arrange your CDO Ulam Burger Patties and top it with your delectable sauce. Your egg comes on top, followed closely by some chopped parsley as garnish. And there you have it — your loco moco is ready! Share and enjoy!
